geometries contour

antoineL
Hello everyone,

I'd like to know if there is an easy way to get the contour of any 2d or 3d geometry (a triangulated surface for example).

Thanks,
Antoine

Re: geometries contour

Hello,

Do you mean the silhouette?

Do you want to compute it once, or do you look for  a data structure to accelerate the computation for many viewpoints?

If it is just once for a view point at infinity then you might use the Lower Envelope package.
https://doc.cgal.org/latest/Manual/packages.html#PkgEnvelope3

Best,

Andreas
