Execution time : polyhedron demo vs full cgal build

I have downloaded the Polyhedron Demo for Windows as well as the demo dlls
and I have tested some functionalities that it provides.
I have tested the same functionalities with my own code or with the
"examples" codes provided in the CGAL folder. I use CGAL as header-only,
build a .exe and run it via the command prompt.
It seems that the running time is significantly faster on the Polyhedron
Demo than with my own .exe. For instance, I have tested "Isotropic
Remeshing" on the same mesh with the same paremeters, it takes more than a
minute with my own .exe and seems to be done in less than a second with the
